Cascade Marine Center Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is a JetBoard?
A surfboard with a motor! The high-performance two-stroke engine is coupled with a jet pump (no exposed blades), and controlled by a handheld flexible throttle arm like a longboard/mountainboard. JetBoarding is a sideways stance sport in the spirit of surfing, kiteboarding, snowboarding, and wakeboarding but with the added benefits of a motor!
-
Is it difficult to learn JetBoarding?
It's very easy to learn! JetBoards are wide and stable, making it easy for most people to ride successfully the very first time they try it. Just like with Stand-Up Paddleboarding, JetBoarding has wide appeal because the learning curve is remarkably short, and even the "unathletic" can have tons of fun with it! JetBoards appeal equally to the chill, conservative rider who wants to "mow the lawn", and to the adventurous, aggressive rider who wants to jump high and do cover-shot-worthy tricks.
Happy JetBoard riders include women and men, kids and grandparents, world-class athletes and holiday dabblers! Of course, we definitely recommend a flotation device and a helmet for all riders; and only those who can swim should use any type of watersports equipment.

Who makes JetBoards?
Hydroforce LLC, based in the Los Angeles, California area, designed, patented and manufactures the JetBoard. Hydroforce's founder and CEO, Bob Montgomery, holds patents for the JetBoard worldwide.

-
Can you give me a shipping quote?
Cascade Marine Center works with a professional freight forwarder to get you the most options and best price for shipping to your location, no matter how remote. Once you place an order, you will be connected with our freight specialist to select and execute a shipping plan.
Shipping costs vary widely (by your location, by desired shipping speed, by number of boards you order): Customers ordering a single JetBoard typically choose air freight and spend approximately $1000; customers ordering multiple JetBoards or a container full of JetBoards choose ocean freight for a few hundred dollars per board.Customers deal directly with the freight forwarding company to select and purchase shipping services. Also, please note that applicable local duties and taxes are the responsibility of the customer.
-
What options do I need to consider for my JetBoard?
a. Length: Short-nose or Long-nose. The vast majority of our sales are for long-nose boards, which are suitable for all conditions and rider levels. Just like with a surfboard, a short-nose version can be appealing for riders focused on maneuverability and tricks.
b. Color: White or Yellow.
-
Is the JetBoard portable?
JetBoards are extremely portable! JetBoards weigh about 175 pounds / 80 kilograms. They are far easier to transport than a bulky jetski, and fit nicely on a lightweight trailer, on the back or deck of a boat or yacht, or even on the roof of a sturdy vehicle.
-
Is there anything tricky about maintaining the JetBoard motor?
JetBoards are simple to maintain and service. Anyone familiar with a standard two-stroke engine (e.g., outboard marine motor, moped) can maintain a JetBoard.
The very first time you use your new JetBoard, we recommend you break in the motor and fine tune the carburetor to your local conditions (break-in instructions are supplied with the JetBoard).
Purchase a parts package to go with your new JetBoard, and you'll be all set to deal with any unforeseen adjustments and repairs on your own, wherever you are in the world!

Why do I see other people selling JetBoards online?
Like all hot new products on the market, Hydroforce's patented JetBoard has been the target of illegal knock-offs.
Hydroforce is the only legal manufacturer of their patented JetBoard, and Cascade Marine Center is the only legal distributor and dealer.
Please be aware that purchase of an imitation product can result in fines, failure to pass through customs in your country, and confiscation of the board by the authorities.
